🌟Spaces displaying the marque self-certify as being invested into their community — making themselves recognisable as supporting their members and guests together as a community, not just a space.
Simply:
- tell us details for your space (if not already listed); we currently only include spaces offering mixed duration stays (month-to-month or under), not exclusively longer-term
- get the HTML to use for your marque (ask or signin); customise with 1–3 classification tags to help visitors understand your space's values and function, and boost SEO
- add it to your site and let us know, then we'll hilight your listing; on same page of your site that we link to, or about page; adjust size as needed
Commit to:
- look out for and engage with your community
- not manipulate or suppress any social media posts and reviews
- a transparent offer without hidden details
Please note:
- self-certification and use of the marque is separate from ranking, however this is planned for inclusion so that high-standards can be promoted alongside; you may not currently include any implication of ranking or rating when using the marque
That's it! We trust that a claim of community stands the test of time.🤗
We do have some tips…
For the best experience on your site, show:
- your next availability 👍 maybe indicating for how long (ideally using an automated integration such as our planned booking/property management system, else don't forget to keep it up to date)
- your pricing with a from xxx per week / xxx per month on your landing page
- workspace facilities you have (dining tables or proper desks and ergo chairs?), plus your internet speed (both up and down!) test it only when nobody is using it
- how easy it is to find food shops/market, restaurants, the outdoors (parks, beaches, hikes) and activities
- how easy you are to reach (with details) by transit, else if you offer a pickup from the station or airport (and how much you charge)
- how many rooms you have, probably also some details for the different types (ensuite, studios, doubles, dorms?)
- if you offer shared rooms; don't say 'double' for unrelated people sharing, a double-bed is either for double occupancy (usually a couple, but not always!) or single occupancy; a room with two beds is simply called a 'twin' room, two beds above each other are bunk beds, and more than two beds is called a 'dormitory' (or a shared/family room)
For the best community experience:
- always make sure on onboard new members when they arrive, introducing the common spaces and how to look after them, plus…
- have a physical place to share event ideas amongst members (such as a blackboard on a wall) in a common accessed area 👏
- use a commonly accessible community chat tool (e.g. Whatsapp, even just an email list; Telegram or Slack may not be common!) 👍
Add your space:
- to Google maps (required for inclusion on our map, though you can ask us to use only your position if you prefer to be semi-private), with photos; and do encourage guests to leave reviews (but don't pester them)
- as a checkin location on Facebook (page with location address, not a personal profile) for user tagging on instagram, and for reviews
- to OpenStreetMap and Apple Maps
